about
There is a good chance, I'm only going to keep this up for a little while, so download it if you're enjoying any of this. I plan on releasing all of this publicly after I clean up the quality a bit, but I wanted to give the people who go above and beyond and subscribe something to say thank you. Thank you for investing your time into my creative expressions, I'll be reaching out to all soon to collect addresses to send out the usb, <3
It's been very challenging deciding to drop over 30 hours of unreleased music as a perfectionist that let this much raw, unfinished music stack up.
I left an example of what i've been up against on purpose.
If you listen to all 4 tracks, TheMileHighClub Portal is super low compared to the other 3, but it's not as simple as just raising the volume, which is why "Be Still" is super crushed and lost all it's original dynamics. this is easier to address when working on album with finished songs that just need a little extra mastering. but with live recorded sessions where in those sessions, I'm constantly changing the volume and mixing and mastering in real time, it becomes a whole other set of challenges, compromises and choices. Doing this for over 30 hrs of unfinished and unreleased music, all while not being able to use my studio monitors at max volume... phew hahaha
Between trying to make sure all the levels are some what even without completely degrading the audio quality has been my Sunset to Sunrise personal hell every day since I decided to not hoard all of this unreleased music and put it all on a usb. Between initially running out of space on the usb and killing the quality by converting all master wav files to mp3's to save space already crushing the quality, to attempting to seperate and name 3 hour single files to attempt to make them "more consumer friendly" I really didn't know what I signed myself up for hahah. But with my personal health not being in good shape and pan_dem_ic deleting people I love from life, I really didn't want regrets or something happening to me where all this music never escapes my hard drive.
With that being said, Here are a few previous live streams I thought I lost, and a WIP for one of my upcoming albums.
I Plan on creating a master portals album on my main bandcamp page and pricing it at $999, That way there is a one stop shop to listen to all of these back to back. The Roadblock in this, is in order to notify everyone a new track has been added. I will have to delete and re-upload the same album everytime I add new portals. Which is why pricing it at $999 comes into play. Cus even if I priced it at $100, there will be people that pay that, and if they are not subscribed, they just lost access to all the music they just paid for..... I hope in the near future bandcamp sorts all these hiccups for the subscriber side of bandcamp because currently there are too many things that punish you for using the subscriber only releases.
In closing. thank you.
I really appreciate anyone who interacts on the bandcamp app, and/or leaves comments on the songs/albums. I also appreciate the ones just vibing, I'm not very interactive, so i get it.
I'm interested to get feedback on something for this one, with one of the portals being vastly lower in volume, which sounds better to you, the raw audio before crushing dynamics or the max volume ones?
PeacePeace. Hopefully you get to enjoy these while they are up. if not, you'll have em again soon.
