1.) Ablercromb.als
2nd beat I made in Ableton live, back in 2012 when I switched from FL Studio. I wanted to see how easy looping was and made this in about 10 minutes, super basic hence why unreleased

2.) TheRestOfThisStuff
created December 2017, I obviously wanted to make up for the simple looping i originally did on my first attempt, hence flexing hard af with a billion lil microchops, added some stock bass, keys, etc then sequenced it live onto cassette (4 track tascam) along with a few other tracks meant for the album I was working on at the time, "NatureBoyKickSnare" which is why the dynamics are pretty much obliterated on this version. You can listen to the EP i originally released this on here - dutchmassive.bandcamp.com/track/natureboykicksnare-ep

There are a bunch of tracks missing, I was multitasking 4 separate albums (NatureBoyKickSnare, I'll Do it Tomorrow, PVP, as well as trying to finish up TheUproot after recovering the hard drive that cause that album to be shelved) Unfortunately, A \/irus derailed all my plans. and I've since gone down multiple portals of experimentation since haha

3.) THERESTOFTHISSTUFF5

Created this version in 2020 live on TWITCH.TV/PEACEPEACEGAWD
When i wasn't tunnel vision getting lost in sessions ignoring chat, I tried to make up by being more interactive, so I would spend streams letting chat look thru all my project file names and choosing a session to open and create some new ish in.

4.) TROTS5 A,B,C, (Portals)

This has been a really tough year, losing my house and privacy, severe health decline, losing my career teaching physicians and losing the ability to go out in nature and/or hang out with friends. All that remains is the music and the internet for any social interaction. I've never been a person who likes to text, or check dm's, I never really even scrolled social media, only used it to post my music and always had success doing it. The need for human interaction, combined with dealing with algorithms so my posts don't get punished for not engaging I spent way more time on social media this year, and I gotta say. It's been the worst experience i've ever had. Everything seem's so calculated, performative & insincere, and that's not even including the rage bait and hot takes every other second. It's super over stimulating and not in a good way, I went from never caring about stats or opinions for over 25 years releasing music to feeling like not only am i not sh*t, but people just don't like me or want to show love (I'm speaking about other artists, I feel plenty of love from non-artists ) It's been a shock and probably the worst time ever to be stuck in a house for over a year with almost zero human interaction, LongStoryShort, my man Olarian ( soundcloud.com/omari-amal/tracks ) who I met in the amazing Omarijazz discord, reached out and did a voice chat, during the call i vented and it was a nice change of pace having a real convo. I was playing him the new stuff i was working on and he mentioned a track he heard on stream but had no idea what the name was. After like 20 minutes going thru sessions we found it. The Sun came up, we parted ways and I immediately opened up the session to bounce out a new version of the track since until now, it only existed in the middle of the NatureBoyKickSnare EP, but per usual, I quickly got sidetracked and started to make new stuff, I also got the monte booker drum kit mid session, so thats why you will hear a bunch of off beat drums, cus I was literally just going thru the folder to hear how they sounded hahah. Typed out, this reads as super dramatic. Tone and Context are so hard to convey typing out words when you can't hear someone smiling =)

5.)TROTS5 D, E,

The Conversion w/ Olarian happened while I working on "I Can't Kount" So when I realized, I completely didn't accomplish just bouncing out the track and instead got super weird with it, I got discouraged, saved, closed the project, and opened up the track I was originally working on. ( dutchmassive.bandcamp.com/track/i-cant-kount ) Unfortunately, I was still in my push the boundaries of conventional sound bag and continued to get weird with it, I only included these because they were all recorded the same session, also because the next Portal opening is the making of "I Can't Kount"

These Portals can get weird. They are usually all pretty long, as it's literally just me making music in real time and recording the process, there will always be super wack parts, badly mixed parts, and off the wall experimentation trying to push the limits, the patient ear is rewarded as Gems are intertwined as the mix constantly evolves.

Portals: an evolving series
*are live sessions capturing the entire process of making music in real time. Nothing is Finalized, all mistakes have a purpose, all fumbles build to evolving ideas. The Patient Ear is rewarded.

Don't look at Portals as beats, but rather as an album you would listen to front to back to find the dopest hidden samples.

*any additional versions created from this same sample will be added to this album, an email will be sent out if and any updates take place and patchnotes will available.
