I didn't start until 40 minutes before the playback stream for all the submissions was starting. I intended to just do a quick flip, but I fell thru a Portal and didn't realize it happened until a few hours later. Missed the entire stream. Didn't have time to refine or submit an actual beat, so I just exported the live takes and called it a night.

- Backstory/context:
In Feb 2021, I minted my first music NFT on Rarible, under my improv jazz alias. 2021 was a crazy year, My health took a severe turn for the worse, I got distracted by back to back sample challenges (dejavu) while trying to finalize the usbs / master drive "Dutchyyy vs the Algorithms" which is now over 120gbs, while also putting alot of time and energy into my making my twitch stream stand out visually going overboard pushing my laptop beyond it's capabilities, until I finally melted it in October. I was also focused heavy on crypto, defi, and was doing well trying to make enough to cover expensive medical bills and get a new PC capable of handling my large creative ambitions. In November I pulled enough to build a good pc and sent it to one of my best friends, to hunt down all the parts (which took months) I didn't pull out alot, because the more i kept in, the more returns i could see and having multiple health issues without health insurance, i needed to make sure I reached a certain threshold, then the great collapse happened, and it happened too fast, Rebase token forks got destroyed, hitpiece scandals, funds are sifu, andre ghosted, and war broke out. needless to say. I got rekt, lost it all. at this point, you might be thinking, what does any of this have to do this the album you just uploaded? and here is the answer. I've held 98% of my music off streaming services for years. I'm consistently dropping free albums, or just giving people access to my entire vault, released and unreleased. I'm just a artist, I just love to create, and i love to collect and support other artists, all my bandcamp revenue goes back into community. I'm not really money focused. I know i need it, but i'm stubborn and particular with art and I really dislike putting paywalls on music. So when I learned about smart contracts and nfts, I got super interested. Nfts got a bad rap in 2021 with all the scammy pfp projects turning people off. but the concept of 1of1 music nfts really resonated with me. As I lifetime collector of physical, tangible and digital art. The idea of being able to create a 1of1 piece, that resonates with a collector and being able to be compensated for all the time and energy put into all this art at a value that resembles the prices I was able to sell beats and verses for prior to 2012 just resonates, why? because, I can give them access to the full vault for just collecting.
When Catalog Works launched, I immediately applied. months passed and i just patiently waited. Finally in late March, I was onboarded! To me, Catalog Works is the prestige, The Blu Note, Brainfeeder, Rawkus, of the space. There's alot of hype in this space, and alot of mid, and blurry intentions, but for me, not only as an artist, but as a true collector of music. It's such an honor to be apart of this brave new world, regardless if anyone collects my records or not. I'm grateful and excited, and I have so much music stacked up i'm waiting to drop.
so there's the context, I know i've been quiet the past few months while my laptop has been on lifesupport. My new PC is here (I used it for the album cover) =) I still need to get a monitor and keyboard, but until then, i'm slowly migrating all my programs and files over, so I can finally open some of these huge ableton sessions and finalize these usbs and ship everyone's cassettes out. It's been a super long wait, but I did my best to go above and beyond to provide way more value to make up for the wait during the craziest year of my life. I appreciate anyone who read this far. I know short form convo, short form media, music, is the new norm, but that's just not me. I either hoard my music/words or unleash the full clip. no in between.
