Before, I begin giving you my backstory, I want to give thanks to everyone who took the time to even be here and if you're still reading up to this point. You're pretty dope. Thankyou. It's a Brave new world out here for Artists/Creatives, getting you here to even have a chance to experience my music before getting distracted is Achievement, so dope. We both just leveled up!

Some people call me Peace, or PeacePeace or PeacePeaceGawd. but most people just call me by the name my mom & pops gave me, Dutch.

Dutchyyy (beats) / Dutchmassive (Rhymes) names make more sense now huh?

I make alot of music...
I mean....
Like an unrealistic amount of music.
For approaching 3 decades now haha (o_o)

I speak thru music, pure, honest to a fault expression, Thru, Beats, Rhymes, or just stumbling & fumbling chords. So for those who don't know me, My Discography is my story. It will convey, connect and reach more than any words I can type out.

I released my first few 12" vinyl in highschool 97/98 as "Dutchmassive" (of Equilibrium) and spent the next decade soley known as an emcee. Which is kinda crazy because I started out on this path in 1995 just making beats on a casio keyboard with a loop feature, just so I could freestyle over them to record on tape for fun. A year later, was in the studio recording my first group album with Equilibrium (Celph Titled, Majik Most & Myself) while also Recording my 1st solo album "JunkPlanet". A few years later, Celph moved to NYC and expanded in to the Demigodz / Army of the Pharoahs. We had alot of fun, released alot of joints, then I kinda went into a different direction, I grew up on battle rap, and feeling like a superhero is what initially what got me into writing rhymes in the first place. but I was getting older, I could never get that "Pharcyde" Chorus from repeating in my head...

"I gotta say something that mean something, something that mean something, something that means something"

So I spent the rest of my career as a rapper, choosing my words wisely, trying to create positive ripples and inspire, while telling my story, being from battle rap background, I didn't take myself too serious and still liked to call out B.S. and address things I thought were unjust or wack.

Released an EP over classic beats I grew up on in 2006, while also finally stirring up the courage to release my first Instrumental album / Beat Tape in 2006 "The DrumLove EP" (this was not close to my first album as a producer, just the first i publicly released, since I wasn't really making beats to rap on, I was always on my weird sleepy, jazz, blunted, video game ost inspired jawns. and beats without rappers on them where not accepted back then like they are today.

A year later I released my sophomore album as Dutchmassive on Rawkus Records, "Crush Your System" which ended up being the last album I released as an emcee.

I was bored with hiphop, and lyrics, and went full blast into maining beats.

Dropped YawnOfTheGemini in 2010, and ended up losing the hardrive that contained my next Dutchmassive album "Romanticizing" as well as all the new beats I made that year. I was pretty devastated and refused to redo songs I already captured the perfect first take energy. So, i really moved away from writing rhymes after that and ended up moving to Los Angeles in 2012, Where I released BlueScreenOfDeaf (which was all the unfinished, not even close final versions beats that i burned to CD's for "The Car Test"

A month later, My homegirl Kronika (Soulection) introduced me to Ahwlee, who would come stay the night at my apartment and make entire albums in ableton before the sun came up while i wasn't even finished working on one beat in FL studio ( bumps.bandcamp.com/album/dutchist ) My mind was blown, so I had ahwlee teach me ableton. and baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam

"ChillGawdChill" + "The Uproot" + "Traversal" just poured out of me effortlessly.

There are backstories for that entire arc of music history, but i'll save that for another time. or you can read about them here.
mecca83.com/2020/05/shawangunk-stomp-the-story-of-dutchyyys-uproot/

On August 19th 2016, while living in Los Angeles for the 2nd time, after leaving NY and Tampa. My mother Unexpectedly passed away. I was on a plane the next morning back to tampa to be close to family and younger brother. After a lifetime of living in apartments (getting evicted everytime for noise complaints, after couch surfing and Traversing across the country, I finally Rented my first house.

No more noise complaints, No Relationship to distract me. I just fully embraced taking this ish to levels I wanted to my whole life, I'd black out for 16 hrs on my 40th version of sample I flipped before and thus PORTALS were born.

I've never officially released an album since losing my mother. there is something about finality that I just can't submit. I've made more music in the past 4 years that no ones heard than 10 of your favorite artists entire catalogs combined.
I generally put alot into my official albums. Alot of emotion, time & energy go into making long elaborate journeys that flow like a story. So in an age where albums maybe have about 10 to 12 one minute tracks, and algorithms that make it near impossible to reach the fans we've spent all these years building up. I found myself needing to slowdown and re-evaluate how to navigate in this brave new music industry. I put a pause on releasing new albums since my last tape, "Traversal", however i never stopped creating. In fact, the past few years i've made more music than ever before and started having alot of fun experimenting while no one was focused on me. Then i started recording each session..... Magic tends to happen during the experimental phase of music production, alot of which is never heard on refined and released songs, so i wanted to document those possible moments of magic, mistakes and all. I'll be uploading alot of unreleased content here. Advanced versions of albums, alternate versions of songs, live studio sessions of me working on new stuff. Tracks I just started working on. tracks uploaded will be anywhere from 1 minute up to 3hrs long. I sit on alot of music never to be heard outside of my circle. Alot of people would not want unpolished, unmixed, early versions of their music out in the world. I get that because i was like that for most of my career, but aren't you bored of the same formats. The polished tracks that don't dare to break away from whatever the current wave of the moment is. I know i am. Lets have fun with this again. join me thru this next year or so. I'll also be uploading the audio versions of my live music sessions that i stream on twitch & youtube as well. This Subscription gives me incentive to share raw unreleased content on a regular basis, in a more intimate fashion.

I'm not so good at typing up things about myself or my art. I just love to create and reach people, and while my creative output hasn't slowed down. This whole streaming era, EP era, playlist era is just not how i want my music to be digested. So i've held back most of my catalog over the years to keep them special to the ones that supported the tapes. While everyone is getting that streaming money, i'm trying to keep some of this art stuff sacred haha. Music is my love but i've always had to keep a career on the side to live. Your support here helps supplement the time i'm not at work but putting in crazy hours creating like a mad man haha. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here and any support you show.

Also, If you love my music and just can't ford the extra expense, I'm fully understanding. I am a human, and a fan of music before anything, If there is anything you ever want for free, don't hesitate to reach out and ask. I gladly give you download codes.

Damn B, I don't say words alot these days, so once I start, I really just go.... would we call this a Portal also?

PeacePeace.
